Turn it over and the object changes instantly: brass frame, glass and falling sand create a quiet little movement that is much more satisfying than a static desk ornament.
Keep it beside books, a notebook or a favourite chair and use the flip as a small pause between tasks, or simply leave it where the warm brass and simple geometry can be enjoyed. Its 10 cm height makes it easy to place even on a crowded desk.
It also makes an easy gift for a reader, writer, chess player, home-office obsessive or anyone who enjoys tactile objects and small rituals more than generic accessories.
Decorative hourglass; it is not presented as a calibrated precision timer.
